Transforming Dreams into Reality with Special Spaces and South Florida Doors and Closets
At Special Spaces, their mission is to create dream bedrooms for children with cancer, providing them with a place of peace and comfort during challenging times. Recently, they created a beautiful and inspiring space for a brave young girl named Lacey, with the help of, South Florida Doors and Closets.
Lacey, a vibrant 17-year-old with a passion for swimming, was eagerly looking forward to her freshman year of college. However, due to the return of brain cancer, she will be staying home for her first year, taking courses online. To support her during this time, Adrian McKinlay of Special Spaces Boca Raton, reached out to South Florida Doors and Closets with a special request: to install mirrored closet doors in Lacey’s bedroom, transforming it into a space where she can find comfort and joy.
Adrian and Director Peggy Peterson recognized that dream bedrooms often include closet doors, and South Florida Doors and Closets was the perfect partner for this project. The team immediately embraced the opportunity to help, not only for Lacey but also for her younger brother, by installing doors in his room as well.
David Shrager, the owner of South Florida Doors and Closets, played a pivotal role in ensuring every detail was perfect. From the sleek design of the mirrored doors to the seamless installation, David’s dedication and expertise were evident throughout the project. His commitment to creating a space that brought elegance and brightness to Lacey’s room was truly inspiring.
Michael Lee, vice president, worked tirelessly alongside David to bring the project to life. His attention to detail and unwavering support were crucial in transforming Lacey’s bedroom into a dream space. The collaborative effort between David, Michael, and the rest of the team resulted in a room that exceeded all expectations.
Installation day was filled with anticipation and excitement. The most rewarding moment for everyone involved was witnessing Lacey and her family’s tears of joy during the big reveal. Seeing Lacey’s face light up as she explored her new special space was an unforgettable experience. It was a powerful reminder of the impact that a beautiful and personalized environment can have on someone’s well-being and recovery.
“Community involvement and supporting non-profits like Special Spaces are core values at South Florida Doors and Closets. This project has inspired us to deepen our commitment to making a difference,” said Shrager. “Being part of Lacey’s journey and contributing to her dream bedroom has been a privilege and an honor, and we are excited to announce plans to partner with Special Spaces at their second annual Fore the Kids Golf Scramble, an event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for our cause.”
“We are grateful to South Florida Doors and Closets for their generosity and dedication. Together, we are committed to transforming dreams into reality, one special space at a time and continue to create spaces that inspire and heal,” Peterson noted.
